INTRODUCTION TO
IN-SITU PILOT-SCALE FREEZE DRYER

Geliss In-Situ Pilot-Scale Freeze Dryer Series:
Eliminating unknown risks when scaling up from laboratory R&D to ton-level industrial production.

Traditional laboratory freeze dryers require manual transfer of pre-frozen samples from external ultra-low temperature freezers to the drying chamber—a process that inevitably introduces risks of thermal shock, moisture absorption, and environmental contamination.
The Geliss in-situ pilot-scale series is specifically designed to bridge this critical gap.
It performs the entire process—pre-freezing, primary drying (sublimation), and secondary drying (desorption)—within a single, sealed rectangular chamber, providing a fully controlled process environment for pharmaceutical pilot lines, biodiagnostics, and high-end cosmetic formulation development.
Key Technical Advantages:
In-situ processing: The entire transformation of the product—from liquid state to the final freeze-dried powder or cake—takes place on the same shelf. This eliminates the need for manual handling, ensuring zero contamination and 100% process continuity.
Forced silicone oil circulation: Moving away from traditional electric heating elements prone to localized overheating, Geliss utilizes hollow shelves with an integrated low-viscosity silicone oil circulation loop. This ensures exceptional temperature uniformity across shelves (deviation ≤±1°C), perfectly matching the thermodynamic characteristics of large-scale commercial freeze dryers.
Industrial-grade PLC and data integrity: Equipped with a robust PLC control system, the unit supports real-time monitoring of sublimation curves and secure data logging, enabling mathematical modeling of process recipes and seamless scale-up.

FUNCTIONAL FEATURES OF
IN-SITU PILOT-SCALE FREEZE DRYERS

The in-situ pilot-scale freeze dryer is primarily used in commercial pharmaceutical and high-end cosmetic production. The control system for the Geliss pilot-scale series is built on a robust industrial-grade PLC architecture, delivering exceptional data transparency:
✔ Multi-level access control: Features password-protected, hierarchical user privilege management (Administrator, Engineer, Operator) to prevent unauthorized changes to process recipes.
✔ Real-time sublimation monitoring: A high-resolution display interface simultaneously records shelf temperature, condenser temperature, and system vacuum levels.
✔ Audit trails and recipe storage: Supports the storage of over 100 multi-stage freeze-drying recipes. All historical operational data can be fully retrieved and exported via an encrypted USB interface or Ethernet port, ensuring full compliance with laboratory audit requirements.
